FISHERMAN'S GRUB

In San Francisco on a road trip my friends and I wanted some tasty seafood.  So, we went to Fisherman’s Warf to eat at Harbor Fog Fish House.  We did not know what we were in for.  I had the best food of my life.  I ordered the fried calamari plate and jalapeno popcorn shrimp.  The shrimp arrived first and was breaded to perfection.  Each piece packed the perfect bite.  I could taste the butter and jalapeno in the bread batter, and I love spicy food.  The cocktail sauce for the shrimp was amazing.  It was spicy and sweet with a ketchup base.  The cocktail sauce was a must.  After this appetizer was my dinner, deep fried calamari.  I have had calamari in Anaheim and Los Angeles, but nothing compares.  The calamari was lightly fried and the breading was not crunchy, but kind of soft and chewy.  I’m not usually a big fan of chewy food but the calamari was perfectly chewy enough and good.  It came with a tomato based sauce with seasoning of champions.  The fries at this place were even delicious with the perfect amount of seasoning salt and they went good with the ketchup.  The refreshing part of the meal was the Fat Tire.  A good beer always goes a long way with a dank meal.  It was super fresh because it was on tap and for some reason beer in a big glass is always better.  Its good too because it isn’t light but isn’t dark.  The best part about this is that you can only get it in San Francisco, the fish we had was straight from the bay even caught the same day.  It makes it special to me because I had a really good time visiting there and the food now reminds me of being in San Francisco.
